My Year in Books 2021- Best and Worst
This year I read 44 books! My goal was 35 to match how many books I read last year and I surprised myself by surpassing it even with a bit more going on this year compared to 2020.
Here is my list of the best and worst books I read in 2021:
Best Books of 2021:
1. Woman 99 (5/5 Stars)
2. The Sun Down Motel (5/5 Stars)
3. Daisy Jones and the Six (4.5/5 Stars)
4. Where the Crawdads Sing (4/5 Stars)
5. Educated (4/5 Stars)
My favorite books I read this year spanned many genres but I noticed one thing they have in common: stories of powerful women written by female authors. With all the books having been published within the last few years, I’m pleased to see that the book world is full of women writers and quality women-centered stories.
Worst Books of 2021:
1. In Five Years (1.5/5 Stars)
2. Sense and Sensibility (1.5/5 Stars)
3. Hallowe’en Party (1.5/5 Stars)
4. Brave New World (2/5 Stars)
5. The Crucible (2/5 Stars)
I’m not a huge fan of the romance genre, as you can see. There’s also a couple classics on my list but I give my reasons in my (past and upcoming) reviews.
Thank you to everyone who gave me recommendations. Please continue to share books that you loved or that I might enjoy!
