Christmas Returns to Pottersville by Dennis Higgins (2018)

Laura’s Rating: 2.5/5 Stars

It’s a Wonderful Life is my favorite Christmas movie so I was really excited to find this interesting reimagining of the story.

The Analysis:

Imagine an alternate universe where Pottersville from It’s a Wonderful Life still exists instead of beautiful Bedford Falls. Peter F. Potter operates a corrupt and sleazy town, but what if he had the chance to see the universe if he had never been born?

This was such a cute concept and it could have been really good, but the writing felt pretty amateurish to me. There were direct quotes and references from the movie, which I appreciated, but they felt forced at times or used out of context.

It still has the general feel-good vibes of It’s a Wonderful Life and a nice message but the quality wasn’t great and I’d rather just re-watch the movie instead.
