Frankenstein (2025)

ree

A new film adaptation from Mary Shelley’s famous 1818 novel of the same name.

Laura’s Rating: 4/5 Stars

Plot: Scientist Dr. Victor Frankenstein begins a quest to create life from death, bringing terror and tragedy to himself and those around him.

Analysis: Frankenstein is an absolutely beautiful film. The visuals are stunning, with bold colors and epic landscapes. The dialogue is often poetic and the soundtrack is subtle but impactful. I enjoyed the acting, especially Jacob Elordi as the creature.

This film’s interpretation of the source material was familiar, but didn’t feel like it had been done before in the same way. The plot was pretty faithful to the book, with specific scenes and themes from the novel that aren’t featured in other film adaptations of the story. Frankenstein is heartbreaking and intense and I’d recommend it.
