Hit Man (2023)

An amusing adventure of a professor turned police mole.

Laura’s Rating: 3.5/5 Stars

Plot: A quiet professor helping the police with profiling fills in as a pretend hit man at a police sting and is soon researching potential clients and creating different personas to use during stings. One day, he breaks protocol to help a potential client and his good intentions set off a chain of dangerous events.

Opinion: The movie itself - entertaining but nothing special- is really enhanced by Glen Powell’s acting chops, which are on full display. His range is quite impressive as the many hitman personas and his general likability shines throughout the movie. I get why he’s booked several big roles in recent years.

I wouldn’t call this all out funny, but it was definitely an amusing thriller of sorts. There’s action, romance, comedy, and even a couple twists. It’s streaming on Netflix and I’d recommend it for a chill movie night.
