This year I read 35 books. My original goal was 16 but I just kept going! A combination of more free time with the pandemic and the motivation of my new blog helped me to read more than ever before. Here is a list of the best and worst books I read in 2020.
Best Books of 2020:
A Gentleman in Moscow (5/5 Stars)
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (4.5/5 Stars)
The Silent Patient (4.5/5 Stars)
Where’d You Go Bernadette (4.5/5 Stars)
The Giver (4.5/5 Stars)
A Gentleman in Moscow:
A piece of wisdom from the main character, Count Rostov: “A careful accounting of days allows the isolated to note that another year of hardship has been endured, survived, bested... Those 365 hatchmarks stand as proof of their indomitability.” In the strange and challenging year that has been 2020, this quote should encourage us that we have remained standing even through the tough circumstances.
Worst Books of 2020:
Breakfast of Champions (1/5 Stars)
American Psycho (1/5 Stars)
The Postman Always Rings Twice (1.5/5 Stars)
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1.5/5 Stars)
Conspiracies (1.5/5 Stars)
Not every book is going to be amazing, but that’s okay! Thank you to everyone who gave me suggestions and recommendations this year. Please continue to share things I might like or that push me out of my comfort zone!
