The Other Woman by Sandie Jones (2018)

ree

A suspenseful domestic drama about a potential nightmare of a mother-in-law.

Laura’s Rating: 3.5/5 Stars

Plot: Emily is infatuated with her boyfriend Adam, but not as much with his mother, Pammie. Is Pammie just an over-attentive mother or is she purposely trying to get rid of the woman taking up her son’s attention?

Opinion: For the most part, I enjoyed the characters in the book. I felt for Emily, although at times it seemed like she was making her own problems. Her friends Pippa and Seb were great. Pammie is the perfect balance of sweet and sour, embodying an extreme version of a stereotypical mother-in-law and creating the right amount of doubt about her intentions.

At first, I was thinking that the twist was not totally unexpected, but I still enjoyed it. Scratch that, WOAH. The twist was crazier than I thought and made for an exciting end to the book. This is a juicy domestic thriller and I’d recommend it for a light but engaging read.
