My Year in Books 2025- Best and Worst
My goal was to read 60 books this year and I (just) made it! I did set my goal before I knew I’d be starting a masters program this year, so I feel pretty good about getting as much reading done as I did.
Here are my top 5 and bottom 5 books that I read this year:
Best Books of 2025:
The Silent Companions (4.5/5 Stars)
The Life We Bury (4.5 Stars)
An American Marriage (4 Stars)
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (4 Stars)
All the Light We Cannot See (4 Stars)
Similar to 2024, I didn’t have any 5 star reads this year. So I’m open to suggestions for an awesome book to start in the new year! I did really enjoy all the books on my list though and would recommend them.
Worst Books of 2025:
What Moves the Dead (1/5 Stars)
The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires (1.5 Stars)
The Hole (2 Stars)
The Mechanics of Memory (2 Stars)
Weyward (2 Stars)
I’ll be posting a review for What Moves the Dead soon, but it was an unnecessary retelling of a classic. The second book on the list made me remove the other books by Grady Hendrix off my to-read list... The others just bored me or fell rather short of my expectations.
Thanks to Goodreads for helping me track my reading. I can’t wait to start on my goal for 2026!
