Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026)

A feature length film featuring characters from The Mandalorian series.

Plot: Following the fall of the Empire, the Mandalorian bounty hunter and Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) work for the New Republic to hunt down remaining Imperial warlords.

Analysis: This was exactly what I expected. It felt like a couple longer episodes of the tv show strung together. If you’re looking for a more cinematic Star Wars experience, you may be disappointed. But for fans of the show, it was a similar setup with a bigger budget.

The soundtrack from composer Ludwig Göransson is solid, both the Mandalorian theme from the show as well as some specific funky tracks for the film. 

I liked the tie-in with Jabba the Hut to reference existing Star Wars lore while creating new storylines. I also really enjoyed that Grogu got a bit of his own storyline separate from Mando. He continues to be the cutest thing in the galaxy, but now he has a little more personality. I think this would be a good movie for fans of the show to stream.
