Wildwood (2026)

The longest stop-motion animation film ever made, which took 16 years from initial concept to release.

Laura’s Rating: 5/5 Stars

Plot: When Prue’s baby brother is abducted by a flock of crows, she must venture into the magical forbidden forest to get him back.

Opinion: This movie is absolutely beautiful. The animation and overall visuals are gorgeous and captivating from the opening sequence to the very end.

I will get on my soapbox momentarily and say that in this time of AI generated slop, Wildwood is a stunning testament to human art and creativity. The detail is beyond mind-blowing for the style, and animators used over 142,000 individual replacement faces for the puppets. Every detail is rich and textured, making the whole experience feel immersive. The battle scene is as good as, if not better than many big budget action films.

The human characters are charming and the other characters are whimsical in all the right ways. The story is emotional, but not heart wrenching. I cannot say enough good things about this movie, please go see it.
