The Cafe on the Edge of the World by John Strelecky (2020)

Laura’s Rating: 3/5 Stars

This story was cute and thought provoking. It talked about purpose and how we are meant to spend our lives.

I’ll share a favorite quote:

“If you aren’t in tune with what you want to do, you can waste your energy on lots of other things. Then, when opportunities come your way for what you do want, you might not have the time or strength to spend on them.”

I like this lesson that you should focus on what truly fulfills you, rather than spending your time worrying about what other people may tell you will provide fulfillment and happiness. I do think that this book is a very generalized overview of these concepts of purpose and fulfillment and isn’t necessarily practical or applicable to specific situations. It functions to get you thinking, but doesn’t hold any earth shattering truths in my opinion. I’d recommend this book to young people or someone feeling a bit lost during a time of transition.
