Movie Review:

Goldfinger (1964)

Laura’s Rating: 3.5/5 Stars

A solid entry into the Bond franchise, establishing some iconic lines and concepts. This movie is the peak of Sean Connery as James Bond, introduces the Aston Martin DB5 car, and is the first time Bond order a martini “shaken, not stirred”.

Being from 1964, there’s some unavoidable flaws by nowadays standards. The background in driving scenes is rough and the fighting sequences are weak or cheesy. I can try to forgive the mild sexism by telling myself that a squad of women pilots is pretty cool. But those things aside, Goldfinger is entertaining and fun.
